SOUND CHECK! Ways to keep your ears in tune to a T.

Four T’s to be exact.

  1. Tackle earwax. While earwax is naturally produced as a protection against dirt and bacteria, too much build-up would harm your ears. Leave a drop or two of olive oil in your ears overnight to soften hardened earwax, making it easier for you to swab away the dirt in the morning.
  2. Treat snoring. At a close range, snoring can reach up to 90 decibels! That’s as loud as someone directly shouting in your ear. If you or your partner or roomie snores a lot in bed, consider wearing earplugs before hitting the sack.
  3. Take more steps. Whether you’re taking the stairs or running around your house for a few minutes, those extra footsteps aid in blood circulation, keeping not only your ears but entire body working at its maximum potential.
  4. Tone it down. Exercising sounds more fun with music but studies show that plugging your ears while working out may increase hearing damage. Why not ditch the earphones and have your workout songs played on speakers, instead?
