The New Normal: Keeping a Healthy Work/Study Station
With the pandemic bringing huge changes like transitioning to virtual work or study set-ups, it is beneficial to observe a few wellness tips for a stress-free work environment.
- Get comfortable. Adjust the seat. Add a cushion to sit on to avoid getting uncomfortable from the long hours of meeting or classes. Make sure your back is supported with a lumbar pillow or use a rolled-up towel to avoid slouching.
- Avoid straining your eye by keeping your computer screen at eye level or at least 10 to 15 degrees below your line of sight.
- Remember to stretch your limbs from time to time. The human body does not respond well to static postures held for hours.
- You can avoid the unnecessary anxiety that comes before a presentation by giving yourself a pep talk. It may sound corny but conditioning and convincing yourself that you have nothing to worry about does work!
