Tips to Prevent Respiratory Problems During Rainy Season

  1. Include in your diet foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants (apples, walnuts, berries, beans, papaya, pineapple, kiwi, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, turmeric, ginger).
  2. Exercise daily to cut down those excess kilos and use yoga or meditation to relax.
  3. Do breathing exercises regularly. This can help clear mucus from the lungs and lower the risk of a flare-up.
  4. Avoid smoking, second-hand smoke or toxic inhalants and wear a mask. Vaping can also deteriorate your lung health.
  5. Try to keep your asthma medication handy and stock on your medications.
  6. Consult your doctor about getting vaccinated for pneumonia and flu.
