Tips to Improve Joint Health

1. Exercise regularly
Strong muscles help ease some of the strain on your joint, so incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. Stick with low-impact workouts like walking or swimming to avoid damaging your joints, and make sure to stretch before and after your workout.

2. Drop a few pounds
Extra weight creates added strain on your joints and losing as little as 10 pounds helps reduce pain. Along with regular exercise, stick to a healthy diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids found in seafood and nuts.

3. Get your calcium and vitamin D
Calcium helps build stronger bones. Take vitamin D as a supplement to help your body absorb calcium and to aid bone growth.

4. Avoid sitting for long periods of time
Remaining in the same spot for hours at a time is not good for our bodies, especially for joints. Every hour, make sure you get up, move around, and stretch a little to keep your body in good shape.

5. Ditch unhealthy habits
Smoking is harmful to our bodies in so many ways. Stop smoking to improve your bone and joint health.
